Participating in a conversation on: Leading Technology When You Don’t Hold the Keys: Lessons from Seven International School Technology Leaders

I joined six other guests, including IT Directors, School Directors and Digital Learning Facilitators, in a conversation hosted by https://www.21c-learning.com/ exploring what it means when you are responsible for the technology in a school and managing a team, but often do not have full autonomy in the decisions that need to be made.

In many cases, you need to work closely with leadership to move things forward. Sometimes this role is not regularly at the leadership table. In other cases, you are part of that team and need to be able to translate the needs and strategy of the school into what the context requires from the IT Director.

A big part of this is helping people understand the why and the how, especially when not everyone is clear on the decisions that need to be made.
